What you'll do
Discover the stories behind Britain’s royal past on a guided walking tour through the heart of Westminster.
Your experience begins outside Buckingham Palace, where you’ll witness the world-famous Changing of the Guard. Watch the red-jacketed guards in towering bearskin hats march along The Mall and take up their positions at the Palace — it’s one of London’s most photographed traditions, so keep your camera close.
From there, your expert guide leads you through the historic streets of Westminster, sharing fascinating facts, royal gossip and lesser-known stories about the British monarchy and the characters who shaped it. Along the way, you’ll pass major London landmarks, including Admiralty Arch and the London Eye, offering plenty of chances for photos and orientation.
Next, you’ll arrive at Trafalgar Square, dominated by Nelson’s Column and its four imposing bronze lions. This lively square is also home to two of London’s most celebrated art institutions: the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery, where world-famous masterpieces like Van Gogh’s Sunflowers are displayed.
The tour continues past St James’s Palace before finishing near the Palace of Westminster, better known as the Houses of Parliament. Here, you’ll hear the unmistakable chimes of Big Ben and end your three-hour adventure in Parliament Square, surrounded by statues of influential world figures and the magnificent Westminster Abbey.
It’s the perfect introduction to royal London – combining pageantry, history and some of the capital’s most famous sights, all brought to life by an entertaining local guide.
