Planning a trip to the UK capital? Whether you’re a first-timer or a returning explorer, The London Pass is your ultimate sightseeing sidekick. Think of it as your golden ticket to the city’s most iconic landmarks, coolest museums and must-do experiences. From the Tower of London to Westminster Abbey, Shakespeare’s Globe to a Thames River Cruise – your pass has it all.
Let’s break down how The London Pass works, what’s included and how to get the most bang for your buck (or quid, in this case). Ready? Let’s dive in.
How does The London Pass work?
Let’s start with the basics. The London Pass is a digital sightseeing pass that grants access to over 90 attractions throughout the city. Instead of paying separately for each ticket, you just pay once for your pass, then flash your phone at the entrance to get in. Spiffing!
You choose how long you want your pass to last and visit as many included attractions as you like within that time. That’s right, it’s a go-big-or-go-home kind of deal.
Buying and activating your pass
- Buy online – grab your pass from our official website or app. That’s where you’ll find the best prices, plus reliable customer support if you need it.
Download the app and sync your pass – your pass lives in the Go City app, so no need to print anything or carry around tickets like it’s 2005. You’ll get a magic link in your confirmation email to sync your pass.
Activate your pass – the clock starts ticking when you scan your pass at your first attraction. Until then, it’s just chillin’ on your phone.
Using your pass on the day
On the day? Just rock up to an included attraction, show your pass and get scanned in. That’s it. No faffing with printed confirmations or endless email searches.
Pro tip: save your favourites in the app ahead of time for smooth sightseeing on the go.
What’s included on The London Pass?
Glad you asked. The London Pass covers an epic lineup of attractions, from blockbuster landmarks to quirky hidden gems. If you have a Pass Plus, you get all the same attractions plus four premium must-sees.
A few fan favourites include:
Royal London: explore regal landmarks like the Tower of London, Kensington Palace and Westminster Abbey.
Must-see icons: marvel at St Paul’s Cathedral, cruise past iconic sights on the Uber Boat or get unbeatable views from the Shard observation deck.
Museums & cultural hot spots: get back to nature with a magical walk around Kew Gardens, step into Shakespeare’s world with a Globe Theatre Tour or uncover centuries of local travel history at the London Transport Museum.
Family-friendly fun: meet the stars at Madame Tussauds London, go wild with a visit to London Zoo or ride the Mail Rail at the Postal Museum.
Something different: walk through works of art at Frameless, discover contemporary art and installations at Moco Museum London or let your tastebuds do some sightseeing with a London food walking tour.
There’s something for every kind of traveller: history buffs, theatre lovers, skyline seekers and curious wanderers.
Plan ahead to maximize your time
London’s big, and with traffic, Tube changes and a million things to see, it’s easy to lose time hopping all over the city. Group attractions by area (think Westminster, South Bank or Kensington) to make your sightseeing smoother and more efficient.
Not a natural planner? No problem. Our free trip planning tool can do the hard work for you. Just choose the attractions you want to visit and how many days you’ve got, and it’ll build a custom itinerary, show you how to get around, and keep all your attraction details in one place. Handy, right?
Is The London Pass worth it?
Short answer: yes, if you plan to see 2,3 or more attractions per day. Entry to top sights like the Tower of London or Westminster Abbey can cost £30+ each, so those savings stack up fast.
Say you want to see the Tower of London (£35.80), Westminster Abbey (£30), Hop on and off the Uber Boat with a 1-day River Roamer (£28.30), and explore Tower Bridge (£16) – your total entry tickets would cost £110.10. But with a 1-day London Pass from £79 for an adult, you’d save around 28% – everything else after that? Bonus savings. *

Plus, you’re getting flexibility and convenience, and it’s all paid for before you even arrive – that's priceless on a packed London day.
What's the main advantage?
Apart from the obvious money-saving angle, here’s what makes The London Pass so handy:
-
All-in-one convenience – one purchase, one app, 90+ attractions. No need to pay individually each time.
-
Flexible sightseeing – do what you want, when you want, with no strict schedule.
-
Stress-free planning – browse attractions, check opening hours and map your route all in the app.
Is there a limit on The London Pass?
There’s no limit on how many attractions you can visit per day, but there is a maximum value limit based on the number of days your pass is valid for.
Don’t worry – you’d have to go really hard to hit that cap. For example, a 3-day adult pass includes a whopping £525* worth of entry fees. Most visitors never reach that threshold, so it’s nice to know you’ve got some serious sightseeing capacity in your pocket.
