Traditional English Scone Making and Tea Workshop

Aprons on and mixing bowls ready for a hands-on masterclass in scone making. This one-hour workshop takes place above the De Hems Dutch Café Bar in Soho and gives you everything you need to master this iconic British bake.

The session is fully hands-on, complete with a fun dive into scone history and plenty of English tea to keep you going. Once your golden creations have risen and cooled slightly, you’ll get to top them with jam and cream and enjoy them fresh from the oven.

There’s also time to settle the great scone debate — from the pronunciation (rhymes with “gone” or “cone”?) to the age-old question of jam or cream first, depending on whether you’re Team Devon or Team Cornwall.

Anything left over? Unlikely — but whatever you don’t finish, you can take away, along with a certificate to prove your new scone-baking skills.
