Why London’s Uber Boat is the VIP way to travel

Taking the tube during peak season can be a squashed and sweaty experience – not the vibe for your London adventure. The good news is, there's a bougie alternative. Here’s why we think Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is the sophisticated way to sightsee…

1. Enjoy a personal welcome at the pier

Just flash your London Pass to the helpful deck hands who’ll greet you at the Uber Boat stop and direct you onto the clipper. See – no scrambling to squeeze through Tube barriers while rescuing your paper ticket at the same time. You can board in style.

2. Get front-seat views of London’s landmarks

While drifting leisurely from A to B, you’ll enjoy unbeatable views of the city’s riverside attractions – Big Ben, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and The London Eye, to name a few. Hop off at any stop that takes your fancy, or just stay on the boat and take it all in – it’s up to you!

3. Toast your journey with some bubbles

There’s nothing more VIP than having a glass of prosecco to hand when you’re swanning around sightseeing. Each Uber Boat has a fully stocked bar, so you can arm yourself with a glass of fizz at any point during your journey. We’ll cheers to that!

4. And don’t forget the snacks... and socks

With everything from posh crisps to gourmet popcorn, you can treat yourself to a full on-board picnic if you fancy. Not a soggy sandwich in sight! And, if you do happen to forget your socks, you can purchase some of those too (yes, really).

5. Even better, order from your seat!

Yep, you don't even have to make the journey from seat to bar. Order on Uber Boat's website by selecting the name of the clipper you're on. When your order's ready they'll either call your name from the bar or bring it to your seat. How's that for service.

6. Keep up with your important correspondence

VIPs need to stay connected at all times, right? Avoid losing signal in the depths of the underground and make the most of Uber Boat’s free onboard WiFi. There’s even an app with information about the stops and the clippers – digital concierge at its best.

7. Enjoy nature’s air con at the back of the boat

Did we mention that the tube is sweaty? Uber Boat’s spacious clippers and ample seating provide plenty of room to spread out. And if you grab a seat on the outside deck at the back, you’ll enjoy the fresh summer breeze as you glide along. No need for Beyoncé’s wind machine when you’re taking those Instagram snaps.
